Job purpose
The Project Transmission Line Manager (Site)-Tx will be responsible for delivering assigned portions of 765/400 kV transmission line projects with the required pace, productivity, budget discipline, and quality control. The role requires a strong focus on zero-harm practices, process compliance, regulatory adherence, and proactive site leadership to keep work on schedule. It also includes coordination with stakeholders, handling administrative requirements, and supporting a capable and collaborative site team.
Key responsibilities
Plan, track, and coordinate foundation, erection, and stringing activities to ensure the transmission line package progresses in line with project timelines and quality expectations.
Review survey inputs and site conditions to confirm tower locations, routing, extension requirements, and crossing points such as highways and railways.
Build and maintain L2 schedules by forecasting weekly and monthly manpower and material needs to support uninterrupted execution.
Submit daily and monthly MIS reports to provide management with clear project status updates.
Implement Field Quality Plans, IS Codes, and CBIP manuals at site, and verify that materials and completed work meet the required standards.
Enforce site safety by following OHS plans and conducting periodic safety training sessions.
Carry out routine quality and safety inspections to stay aligned with legal requirements and reduce operational risk.
Maintain complete documentation, including compensation records, landowner agreements, and administrative files, while securing the necessary approvals to prevent penalties.
Work with government departments and administrative officials such as Patwari, Tehsildar, and SDM to address landowner and ROW matters smoothly.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors through regular meetings to resolve issues early, control extra costs, and keep everyone aligned on project objectives.
Engage with local authorities, organize shutdowns where required, and obtain permissions needed for timely project delivery.
Monitor expenses against the approved budget and manage resources efficiently.
Review vendor bills for correctness, approvals, and timely processing.
Maintain a zero-harm environment by identifying hazards early and applying safety controls consistently.
Use project management tools and software to track progress, allocate resources, and improve communication across the team.
Adopt new techniques and technologies that strengthen execution quality and overall project outcomes.
Requirements
B.E. or B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering.
10 to 12 years of relevant experience in executing high-voltage 765/400 kV transmission line projects.
Proven capability in resolving Right of Way issues.
Strong understanding of safety, statutory, and regulatory compliance requirements for transmission line work.
Stakeholders
Internal stakeholders include Projects, Engineering, and HO.
External stakeholders include STU, CTU, SLDC, and NRLDC.
