Job description

Role overview

This site-based quality role supports MEP inspection, documentation, and testing activities. The position contributes to verifying that work is carried out in line with approved drawings, technical specifications, and client expectations through routine checks, records management, and coordination of tests at the project site.

Core responsibilities

  • Support QA/QC engineers during inspections of electrical conduit runs, cable tray erection, plumbing and piping routes, HVAC ducting, and fire-fighting systems to confirm compliance with approved shop drawings and quality requirements.
  • Take part in checking materials received for MEP and steel work, including pipes, cables, motors, panels, valves, steel sections, and fasteners, while confirming correct storage, identification, and certification.
  • Coordinate with laboratories and external agencies for NDT activities, pressure testing, megger testing, and functional checks of MEP systems.
  • Record inspection findings and complete checklists, working under QA/QC guidance, for stage-wise activities such as pipe leak tests and duct insulation checks.

Stakeholder interaction

  • Work with QA/QC Engineers - MEP & Steel on alignment issues and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with site execution teams across MEP, civil, and structural functions for ground checks, structural alignment, and verification of testing activities.
  • Support client and consultant visits during inspections, site audits, and milestone walkthroughs.
  • Liaise with testing laboratories for off-site test arrangements and material assessment outputs.

Qualifications and experience

The role calls for a Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering. Candidates with ITI qualifications and relevant MEP or steel-related site experience may also be considered for junior positions. A working understanding of English is needed for documentation, along with Hindi or the local language for day-to-day site communication.

Experience required is 5 to 10 years in assisting MEP inspections, maintaining records, and supporting field-level compliance on construction projects.
