About the role
The Regional Council in Tübingen is looking for an engineer with a degree in civil, chemical, mechanical, environmental engineering or process engineering, or a comparable qualification. The position focuses on administrative and technical work connected to public funding for wastewater projects and the technical review of water-law permit procedures for large wastewater treatment plants under the authority of the regional council as the higher water authority.
Key tasks
- Review applications for funding and prepare grant decisions or rejection notices.
- Assess structural studies and related technical documents.
- Handle technical aspects of appeal proceedings.
- Clarify technical and legal issues related to wastewater treatment within supervisory duties.
- Provide technical support in water-law authorisation procedures.
- Carry out duties in the field, as the role includes regular external service/travel.
- Additional or alternate tasks may be assigned if required.
Required qualifications and profile
- Completed engineering degree, preferably in civil, chemical, mechanical, environmental engineering, process engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Several years of experience or solid knowledge in wastewater treatment, water protection, or funding-related work is an advantage.
- Strong personal drive, commitment, and the ability to work flexibly.
- Confident communication and strong persuasive ability, including in challenging negotiations.
- Independent, dependable working style combined with good teamwork skills.
- Good general computer skills and confident use of Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Valid category B driving licence.
