Job description
Job Purpose
The Wireline Field Engineer at ADNOC Drilling is responsible for delivering wireline services safely and effectively across various onshore and offshore sites in the UAE. This role involves leading wellsite wireline operations, ensuring adherence to ADNOC Drilling's standards, and mentoring junior colleagues to uphold operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute wireline services across assigned rigs and fields for ADNOC Drilling clients.
- Act as crew lead on-site, directing operations in line with company procedures.
- Provide guidance and supervision to junior engineers and operators on wireline tools and service delivery.
- Plan, troubleshoot, and report on wireline jobs before and after execution at the base.
- Coordinate with client representatives and rig teams to synchronize wireline activities with drilling schedules.
- Advise clients on wireline operations, perform quality control of logging data, and assist in wellsite decision-making.
- Handle radioactive sources and explosives safely, following prescribed HSE and regulatory protocols.
- Maintain detailed job records and communicate operational status to the service delivery coordinator.
- Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex problems using engineering, mechanical, and geological knowledge.
- Utilize software such as ECLIPS, Warrior, and Cerberus for planning and executing jobs.
- Demonstrate operational experience with Baker Hughes wireline equipment including deployment, maintenance, and repairs.
- Execute common wireline operations including open hole logging, cased hole services, perforation, plug setting, and production logging, primarily in Abu Dhabi fields.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC Drilling HSEMS standards as wireline supervisor by conducting risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety briefings pre-operation.
- Monitor and enforce safety standards during operations involving lifting, pressure control, and handling explosives.
- Lead incident reporting and participate in HSE audits or investigations related to wireline activities.
- Manage the complete wireline job cycle (plan, execute, evaluate, close), ensuring fulsome documentation aligned with ADNOC Drilling quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in oilfield wireline operations and services, both open-hole and cased-hole, with strong familiarity with Baker Hughes wireline technologies.
- Proficient in planning, executing, and troubleshooting advanced wireline operations at wellsite.
- Capable of interpreting and validating wireline data/logs onsite and advising clients accordingly.
- Thorough knowledge of HS&E practices including risk assessment, Permit to Work (PTW), simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), pressure control, lifting procedures, and where applicable, radioactive and explosives handling.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Computer literate with the ability to prepare precise operational documentation and reports.
