Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated entry-level Yield Enhancement Engineer to join our semiconductor manufacturing team based in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have a background in wafer fabrication with enthusiasm for testing, failure analysis, and data-driven improvements. This role focuses on boosting product yield, analyzing process and test data, and supporting new product introductions through process optimization. Additionally, you will develop basic machine learning tools to leverage extensive manufacturing data.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and monitor wafer process data to detect opportunities for yield improvement.
- Perform root cause failure analysis on defective wafers and devices.
- Work collaboratively with process engineers and cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
- Assist in designing and interpreting Design of Experiments (DOE) data.
- Support projects related to new product introduction and process optimization.
- Participate actively in yield review meetings and problem-solving discussions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and present results to engineering and leadership teams.
- Create and maintain scripts or software to automate data analysis and reporting.
- Conduct data cleaning, feature engineering, and develop machine learning models for yield analysis.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related disciplines.
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing, wafer fabrication, or yield engineering, including internships and academic projects.
- Solid understanding of wafer fabrication processes and semiconductor device physics.
- Exposure to failure analysis methods such as electron microscopy, elemental spectroscopy, and electrical testing at wafer or assembly level.
- Strong skills in statistical analysis and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with data analysis software like Power BI, JMP, or R.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and yield management software.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, VBA, SQL, or comparable tools for data analysis.
- Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and safety practices.
- Experience in developing machine learning models.
