Job description
Role Overview
This position supports safety management for construction projects by helping implement, monitor, and improve HSE systems, with a strong focus on audits, training, reporting, and site-level compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit project sites to verify that RPMG and contractor teams are following the HSE Management System and project safety plans, and track closure of recommendations.
- Support departmental audits and training programs by maintaining records and ensuring follow-up is properly monitored.
- Help the Lead HSE in preparing the site HSE Management System.
- Assist RPMG Project Management in rolling out and tracking the HSE Management System.
- Coordinate assigned project areas to carry out HSE audits and training sessions.
- Share HSE-related observations, concerns, and performance updates with the HOD HSE.
- Support the Lead HSE and HOD HSE in developing training content, presentations, and delivering training sessions.
- Coordinate with the project team to identify and address training needs.
- Help prepare incident reports, weekly and monthly MIS reports, and similar documentation.
- Create HSE communications such as publications, alerts, and awareness materials.
- Work with project HSE teams on promotional campaigns, motivational initiatives, and award programs.
- Maintain and update RPMG group resources through online portals.
- Handle other HSE-related tasks as assigned by the RPMG HSE HOD.
Education Requirements
Applicants should have a graduate or postgraduate qualification in Science, Engineering, or Technology, along with a postgraduate diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized university or board.
Preferred Qualifications
- A master’s degree in an HSE-related discipline is desirable.
- International or national HSE certifications are an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of experience in HSE work within construction projects.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of incident prevention methods
- Understanding of HSE laws, statutory requirements, and construction safety standards
- Ability to write clear reports and prepare MIS documents
- Capability in hazard identification and risk assessment
- Strong coordination skills for working with project teams and contractors
- Proficiency in MS Word, email, spreadsheets, and presentation tools
- Good verbal and written communication
- Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under time constraints
