Role overview
In this position, you will work alongside a Rehabilitation Consultant or Vocational Consultant to help people who have experienced injury or illness secure suitable new employment.
The role is based out of the Sydney or Miranda NSW office and involves employer engagement, relationship building, and support for injured workers returning to work through SIRA-related programs.
Key duties
- Reach out to potential host employers by phone to identify opportunities for placing injured workers during recovery through volunteer- or employee-based SIRA programs.
- Promote SIRA programs and any related incentives available to employers.
- Prepare SIRA program and retraining applications for review and approval by agents.
- Develop a network of employers and maintain a database of hosts willing to support candidates.
- Travel to different client locations to strengthen employer relationships and expand the host employer network.
- Deliver job-skills training and create supporting resources for workers who need help finding new employment.
- Meet placement targets within required timeframes, such as arranging a work trial within six weeks of referral.
- Collaborate with the Head of New Employer Services to create tools and resources that support the role and future national growth.
Requirements
- Strong phone-based communication skills, along with proven ability in sales and marketing.
- At least 6 months of experience in calling or sales roles, with a record of meeting KPI targets.
- Persistence, resilience, and the ability to keep working toward positive results in difficult situations.
- A current driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle.
- Excellent people skills and an engaging personality that helps build rapport quickly.
- Understanding of the NSW Workers’ Compensation scheme is helpful but not essential.
