Role overview
As an Employee Relations Specialist focused on Logistics, you will help create a workplace that is fair, respectful, and inclusive across distribution centres. The role centers on strengthening employee relations, supporting engagement, and making sure day-to-day practices stay aligned with policies, legal requirements, and company values.
People management and team development
- Contribute to and help coordinate core people processes across the employee lifecycle, ensuring employees have a smooth and consistent experience that supports business objectives.
- Work alongside the DC management team by advising on people-related topics and organizational development needs.
- Encourage employee engagement and help build an inclusive culture through routine HR practices and local initiatives.
- Support managers in creating a safe, welcoming, and motivating environment where employees feel respected and valued.
- Help managers address workplace concerns at an early stage and promote open dialogue with timely, constructive resolution.
Specialized operations and administration
- Assist with local change efforts and support the implementation of global and regional HR programs.
- Handle conflict resolution, grievance matters, and disciplinary steps in a fair and timely manner.
- Support or take the lead in union discussions to help maintain positive labour relations.
- Take part in mediation and legal proceedings when needed to support issue resolution.
Coordination and stakeholder management
- Work closely with local, regional, and global HR partners to keep the HR approach aligned and effective.
Performance analysis and decision support
- Track and report HR data such as hiring, attrition, and training completion to support informed decision-making.
Compliance, risk, and governance
- Ensure that local labour laws, internal policies, and union agreements are followed through accurate records and current knowledge.
- Coach leaders on policies, labour law topics, and employee concerns.
- Support strong execution of employee relations processes to improve compliance and efficiency.
- Keep employee relations documentation aligned with GDPR requirements.
