Role overview
This position sits within the Human Resources team and reports to the HR Manager. The successful candidate will provide specialist support in employee relations and industrial relations across the operation, working closely with leaders to resolve workplace issues in a practical way while staying aligned with legal, policy and agreement requirements.
Key duties
- Offer informed guidance to managers on sensitive and complex employee relations matters, with an emphasis on fair and commercially workable outcomes.
- Lead and manage workplace investigations from start to finish, including evidence gathering, process coordination, report preparation, and presentation of findings and recommendations.
- Advise on employment legislation, modern awards, enterprise agreements, employment contracts and internal policies.
- Assist with industrial relations matters such as disputes and matters involving unions.
- Support compliance with workplace obligations, including requirements under the Fair Work Act and related legislation.
- Help prepare for and contribute to enterprise agreement negotiations and associated activities.
- Work to resolve workplace conflict and disputes in ways that strengthen relationships and outcomes across the business.
Skills and experience
- Tertiary study in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Employment Relations, Law, Business or a closely related field.
- Previous experience in employee relations, industrial relations, workplace relations or a broader HR role.
- Strong understanding of Australian employment law and industrial relations systems.
- Hands-on experience handling workplace investigations and complex ER matters.
- Ability to interpret enterprise agreements, awards and employment legislation accurately.
