Job description
Role Overview
We seek a skilled Embedded Linux Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in developing Linux-based embedded software systems. The candidate will engage in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting software components for real-time industrial controller platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, sustain, and debug applications written in Embedded C/C++ within Linux environments.
- Develop multi-threaded programs utilizing POSIX APIs tailored for real-time Linux setups.
- Configure and diagnose Linux system services, networking protocols, shell scripts, and general system conditions.
- Employ Linux debugging tools to identify and resolve software defects.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to innovate embedded software architectures.
- Prepare and maintain documentation detailing technical solutions and product development support.
Required Competencies
- Proficient knowledge of Embedded Linux operating systems.
- Strong programming skills in C and C++ for embedded applications.
- Experience with Linux Shell scripting and POSIX API functions.
- Ability to design and debug multi-threaded processes effectively.
- Expertise in Linux networking and troubleshooting techniques.
- Background in embedded systems development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with real-time Linux environments.
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers and industrial automation systems.
- Knowledge of EtherCAT, CAN/CANopen protocols, OPC UA, and MQTT communications.
- Skills in containerization using Docker or related technologies.
- Proficiency in Python or Lua scripting languages.
- Experience using version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Instrumentation, or a closely related field is essential.
