Salary Details

The monthly salary ranges from $4742 to $6003 (SR-18, Step C to I), contingent upon fund availability, applicant qualifications, and other factors.

Role Summary

The Eligibility Worker IV is responsible for conducting quality assurance reviews to identify errors and areas prone to errors in public assistance programs. This role also involves identifying, developing, or coordinating specific program training and acting as the section's trainer.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate initial and ongoing eligibility of applicants and recipients for financial assistance and supplemental nutrition assistance programs.
• Perform quality assurance reviews to detect errors and program vulnerabilities.
• Develop and coordinate training programs focused on identified program areas.
• Serve as the trainer for the section, providing guidance and knowledge sharing.

Minimum Qualifications

• Legal authorization to work in the United States (citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment).
• Demonstrated high verbal skills, ability to read, comprehend, apply written directions, and basic math proficiency including percentages and averages. This can be substantiated through continuous part-time, unpaid work experience or possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of public contact experience involving providing information, answering inquiries, explaining policies and regulations, and computer data entry/retrieval.
• Three years of progressively responsible work involving knowledge of public assistance program philosophies, goals, functions, and standards, with ability to conduct eligibility determinations.
• At least one year of experience applying specific public assistance program regulations, policies, and procedures, particularly within BESSD programs such as financial assistance and supplemental nutrition assistance.
• Demonstrated or potential supervisory aptitude through prior leadership roles, training, or favorable evaluations.
