Role Overview
Monroe Academy is hiring a committed elementary math teacher for ABEKA curriculum in grades 4, 5, and 6. The school is looking for someone who can manage a classroom effectively and who is eager to support students’ academic growth along with their spiritual development.
Responsibilities
- Work with fellow staff to design and deliver curriculum and classroom instruction.
- Adjust teaching methods to suit different learner needs, including whole-class teaching and one-on-one support.
- Weave a biblical perspective into everyday teaching.
- Keep the classroom well managed through clear routines, expectations, and consistency.
- Foster a learning environment built on respect, accountability, and steady improvement.
- Stay in regular, positive, and professional contact with parents to help support students academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
- Contribute actively to the school’s ongoing development and improvement efforts.
- Take part in school activities and broader community events.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Education or a closely related discipline is required.
- Teaching certification from the state is preferred, with requirements potentially differing by grade level.
- Prior classroom experience is an advantage, though not mandatory.
- Strong leadership and classroom control skills are expected.
- Good communication and organizational abilities are important.
