Job description
Position overview
The University of Konstanz is seeking an electrician or a person with vocational training in electrical engineering for its Facility Management division, specifically within building and operating technology. The role is a full-time position under pay grade E 7 of the collective agreement TV-L and can be filled as soon as possible on a permanent basis. The position is generally suitable for job sharing.

The Facility Management division, with about 100 employees, provides the buildings and their extensive technical infrastructure needed for modern research and teaching across approximately 120,000 m² of usable space.
Key duties
- Carry out inspections of portable electrical equipment in line with DIN VDE 0701/0702 and DGUV V3 requirements.
- Independently test electrical devices used in the university’s scientific departments using testing equipment and a PC.
- Provide substitute shifts at the i-point, a 24-hour staffed control room that receives and forwards fault reports, operates the fire alarm system and building management system, handles emergency calls, distributes keys, and gives information.
- Perform minor repairs on electrical equipment.
Candidate profile
- Completed vocational training, preferably as a qualified electrical specialist.
- Solid PC skills.
- Several years of professional experience are preferred.
- Knowledge of English is an advantage.
- Experience with testing and measuring electrical equipment is desirable.
