Position Overview

Sigmatech is looking for a seasoned Electro-Mechanical Technician to help maintain, troubleshoot, repair, test, and sustain calibration equipment and related assets used in Department of Defense programs. In this role, you will bring hands-on technical support for calibration systems, test gear, and weapon-system support equipment, with a strong focus on reliability, precision, and mission readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out advanced troubleshooting, repair work, modifications, calibration tasks, and preventive maintenance on electro-mechanical systems and calibration sets.
  • Support inspection, testing, repair, reset, and certification efforts for calibration equipment and measurement systems.
  • Perform fault isolation and root cause analysis on complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Use and maintain test instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and automated test systems.
  • Read and apply technical manuals, engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance procedures.
  • Contribute to lifecycle sustainment of calibration assets and associated support equipment.
  • Confirm calibration standards, measurement accuracy, and compliance with military and industry requirements.
  • Record maintenance actions, calibration outcomes, discrepancies, and corrective steps.
  • Coach and support junior technicians through technical guidance and mentoring.
  • Assist engineers in assessing equipment performance, implementing changes, and improving maintenance workflows.
  • Help manage inventory, configuration control, and accountability for calibration assets.
  • Maintain adherence to quality, safety, environmental, and security standards.

Requirements

  • Background in a related military occupational specialty such as SHORAD, Ground-Based Weapon Systems, Material Maintenance, or comparable military/technical experience.
  • Completion of a technical trade school program or equivalent formal technical training.
  • At least 7 years of relevant military occupational specialty experience, or 5 years of technical trade experience.
  • Practical understanding of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience supporting calibration labs, test equipment upkeep, or metrology programs.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical systems down to the component level.
  • Comfort reading technical publications, engineering drawings, and schematics.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and electronic maintenance documentation systems.
  • Active Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Army TMDE, calibration, or metrology operations.
  • Familiarity with GCSS-Army, LMP, or similar military logistics and maintenance platforms.
  • Exposure to weapon systems, missile systems, radar systems, or aviation support equipment.
  • IPC soldering certification or an equivalent technical credential.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfort working in maintenance shops, labs, warehouses, and field settings.
  • Capability to stand, bend, climb, and perform hands-on maintenance for long periods.

Desired Experience

Strongly preferred candidates will have worked with calibration sets such as AN/GSM-705, AN/GSM-421, TMDE assets, electronic test stations, measurement standards, and related Army calibration programs.
