Job description

Role Overview

Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance, the chosen candidate will handle the installation, inspection, upkeep, troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical systems and equipment across the resort premises. This position ensures the electrical infrastructure operates safely, reliably, and in compliance with relevant codes and safety standards.

Qualifications and Criteria

Mandatory:

  • Possession of a Red Seal Electrician Certification.
  • Successful completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program.
  • Capability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical wiring methods, systems, and applicable codes.
  • Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic and testing tools.
  • Strong analytical skills in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in commercial, institutional, hospitality, or facility settings.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance routines.
  • Knowledgeable about building control systems, motors, pumps, and associated equipment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installations of electrical systems, fixtures, and controls throughout the resort.
  • Diagnose electrical and electronic malfunctions and effect repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
  • Install, upgrade, or modify wiring, devices, and power distribution networks as required.
  • Conduct tests on electrical components and systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational problems.
  • Maintain detailed and precise maintenance records and reports.
  • Ensure that all electrical work complies with safety regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Assist in maintenance projects and improvements across resort facilities.
  • Promote a safe, professional, and cooperative working atmosphere.
