Electrical Technician - Wind Turbine

Role Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Technician specialized in wind turbine systems to perform cable routing, termination, and connections, along with final electrical finishing tasks aligned with technical guidelines and safety protocols.

The role suits a range of experience levels where newcomers will gain training while more seasoned technicians handle responsibilities independently. Work will encompass high-profile projects including wind farms and electrical infrastructure across various countries. This role requires hands-on involvement, mobility, on-site supervision, and accountability in complex electrical installations.

Responsibilities

• Engage in installation and maintenance activities both onshore and offshore.
• Execute cable laying at foundation stage following base tower assembly, including grounding cables.
• Perform cable termination within the nacelle and post-transformer station setup at ground level.
• Connect Condition Monitoring Systems, external and aviation lighting on transformer stations and tower sections, plus additional wind turbine components.
• Install cable trays and protective mechanisms.
• Route and secure high/low voltage cables throughout entire turbines.
• Set up uninterruptible power supplies, lighting panels, and grounding controllers.
• Conduct VLF testing, primary and secondary injection tests, and manage HV fault diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Maintain tools and company equipment responsibly.
• Document and report as per prescribed procedures.

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma in electrical studies.
• Capability to interpret electrical schematics accurately.
• Strong manual dexterity and comfortable with tool handling.
• Experience in electrical or electromechanical roles preferred; beginners will receive comprehensive training.
• Detail-oriented with analytical thinking.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently and stay away from home.
• Dependable with a proactive and positive mindset.
• Eager to learn and grow professionally.
• Communicative English language skills.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Physically fit to perform demanding tasks and on-site work.
