Overview

At Rosewood Red Sea, a premier luxury hospitality property, the Electrical & Mechanical Supervisor ensures the consistent and precise functioning of all electrical and mechanical infrastructure that supports outstanding guest experiences. This role merges technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, guaranteeing systems operate smoothly while meeting the property’s standards for safety, hygiene, and operational excellence, in alignment with Rosewood’s A Sense of Place philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations and upkeep of electrical systems including LV panels, main distribution boards, lighting across guest and back-of-house areas, power control systems, ensuring stability, load balancing, and swift fault resolution.
  • Manage mechanical and HVAC equipment such as air handling and fan coil units, ventilation, chilled water systems linked with district cooling plants including pumps, heat exchangers, and valves, maintaining optimal temperature and indoor air quality.
  • Supervise plumbing and sewage utilities, including water supply systems, booster and transfer pumps, and drainage ensuring uninterrupted service and sanitation.
  • Maintain internal fire-fighting infrastructure like hose reels, sprinklers, and valves, coordinating with external agencies for fire alarms and external firefighting setups; conduct regular inspections to confirm readiness.
  • Guarantee all engineering systems involved in kitchens and food handling areas comply with HACCP standards, managing ventilation, drainage, and cold room climate while supporting food safety audits.
  • Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and keep maintenance logs current.
  • Lead emergency responses for power, HVAC, and water-related incidents, ensuring safe isolation and restoration procedures.
  • Supervise and guide a team of technicians, assigning tasks, monitoring quality, and promoting safe work practices.
  • Coordinate with contractors and service providers to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Enforce safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout and Permit to Work systems, complying with local regulations and hotel standards.
  • Monitor energy consumption, identify conservation opportunities, and support sustainability measures.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of maintenance work, system performance, and incidents; prepare shift reports for management.
  • Drive continuous improvements by recommending technical upgrades to enhance system reliability, operational efficiency, and guest comfort.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in engineering operations with at least 2 to 3 years in supervisory roles within 5-star luxury hotels.
  • Familiarity with district cooling systems, HACCP environments, and fire system coordination with authorities.
  • Technical proficiency with electrical distribution, HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, and fire protection systems; capable of interpreting technical drawings and manuals.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and compliance standards including HACCP requirements and fire life safety systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to handle pressure, emergencies, and detail-oriented problem-solving.
  • Proficient communication skills in English; additional languages such as Arabic are advantageous.
  • Experience training and guiding technical teams on procedures, safety, and hygiene in sensitive areas.
