Role Overview
As an Electrical Build Technician, you will be stationed at our client's advanced medical device manufacturing facility in Galway. Your role is pivotal in the precise manufacturing and assembly of cutting-edge medical devices, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety, and effective functioning of production equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical build or upgrade projects for equipment, maintaining full accountability for assigned tasks.
- Offer technical leadership on issues related to equipment builds.
- Provide support during machine commissioning after handing over builds.
- Mentor new employees and apprentices as required.
- Collaborate with mechanical design teams to ensure strict compliance with Boston Scientific's equipment specifications and smooth handover to commissioning or manufacturing teams.
- Detect discrepancies in build drawings and communicate findings to engineers.
- Ensure all equipment complies with CE marking requirements.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to complete equipment-related projects efficiently.
- Report any environmental, health, or safety concerns to managers or supervisors promptly.
- Maintain quality standards throughout all work phases, adhering to compliance requirements.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives within the department and plant, including Lean and Value Improvement projects.
- Demonstrate unwavering commitment to patient safety and product quality by following the Quality Policy and documented procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in interpreting and constructing electrical schematics.
- Experienced in building equipment following electrical and pneumatic drawings.
- Well-versed in pneumatics with the ability to understand pneumatic schematics.
- Strong technical aptitude paired with clear communication, teamwork, and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Creative and imaginative approach towards addressing technical challenges.
- Fully qualified electrician with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in machine build environments.
- Possession of necessary education certificates, licenses, and professional certifications.
