Role Overview
The company is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Technician responsible for supporting installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems primarily for offshore and petrochemical projects. This role demands adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, and maintain electrical and instrumentation devices.
- Perform cable glanding, terminations, continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and loop checks.
- Install and calibrate field instruments, control panels, transmitters, switches, valves, and analyzers.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of equipment such as switchgears, transformers, motors, and motor control centers.
- Carry out calibration and functional testing on process instruments and Fire & Gas detection systems.
- Interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring schematics, hook-up diagrams, and cable schedules accurately.
- Troubleshoot faults in electrical and instrumentation systems and support corrective maintenance.
- Assist pre-commissioning, commissioning, punch list closure, and final system handover procedures.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, calibration certificates, commissioning documentation, and prepare final reports.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, organizational procedures, and health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, supervisors, QA/QC personnel, and commissioning teams during project execution.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of practical experience in Oil & Gas, EPC projects, petrochemical, or industrial environments.
- Well-versed in installation, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Ability to read and fully understand engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation equipment, PLC/DCS platforms, and Fire & Gas systems is advantageous.
- Strong communication, teamwork capability, and effective problem-solving skills.
