About the Role
Siemens Mobility, a division of Siemens AG focused on rail vehicles, automation, electrification, and intelligent transport solutions, seeks a dedicated EHS Manager for project operations based in Nagpur, Maharashtra. This position plays a vital role in shaping a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace while supporting innovative mobility solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce comprehensive Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
- Maintain adherence to applicable state and central regulations, ensuring all legal requirements and permits are fulfilled timely.
- Conduct thorough risk identification activities such as HIRA, job safety analyses, and propose effective control measures targeting critical high-risk operations like electrical work, lifting, working at height, and material handling.
- Manage investigation processes for incidents, accidents, and near misses and enforce corrective and preventive measures.
- Engage with government bodies and ensure compliance with environmental standards concerning air quality, water, waste, hazardous substances, and effluent management.
- Lead awareness initiatives including EHS inductions, toolbox talks, mock drills, safety trainings, and emergency drills to promote a safety-first culture among staff, contractors, and visitors.
- Implement and sustain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems; oversee internal and external audits; drive closure of audit findings and continual system improvements.
- Oversee contractor safety compliance including permits, safety plans, and site safety inspections.
- Prepare and maintain detailed EHS documentation, legal compliance records, material safety data sheets, reports, and management information systems dashboards.
- Develop emergency response strategies and coordinate preparedness with relevant emergency and medical services.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science field.
- Mandatory ADIS Diploma or Degree in Industrial Safety; additional qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or ISO Lead Auditor certification are advantageous.
- 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in EHS management, including 3 to 8 years specifically in Metro Telecom project operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing EHS aspects within project environments.
