Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on preparing EHS documentation, ensuring site compliance with safety standards, conducting inspections, training workers, and coordinating all health, safety, and environment management activities aligned with ISO standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience handling site safety measures, risk assessments, emergency preparedness, and EHS reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain all EHS-related documentation such as EHS plans, emergency response plans, and risk assessments.
  • Participate actively in EHS meetings with clients and project teams.
  • Report any EHS concerns or incidents promptly to the head office.
  • Provide comprehensive EHS induction training to new workforce members.
  • Perform daily safety inspections of designated zones.
  • Ensure engineers and supervisors acquire necessary safe work permits from clients or main contractors.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments to identify high-risk areas and notify relevant personnel.
  • Ensure weekly toolbox talks are delivered effectively to enhance worker EHS awareness.
  • Monitor and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment including helmets, safety shoes, and coveralls.
  • Verify that all equipment such as ladders and scaffolding are safe and operational before use.
  • Maintain satisfactory health and hygiene standards at the site, including access to water, rest areas, and proper lighting and ventilation.
  • Uphold rigorous housekeeping practices to prevent accidents.
  • Carry out Job Safety Analyses for high-risk activities to reduce hazards.
  • Promote a safety-conscious culture encouraging workers and engineers to adhere to EHS practices.
  • Lead investigations into minor and major incidents alongside engineering teams, communicating findings for future prevention.
  • Provide first-aid or arrange medical care in case of injuries.
  • Keep detailed documentation of all EHS activities and audits.
  • Implement and continually improve integrated health, safety, and environmental management systems compliant with ISO-45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Conduct training sessions for engineers and workers both onsite and through HR-organized programs.
  • Prepare and update EHS and Environmental Management Plans, including emergency preparedness and response drills.
  • Oversee external audits and third-party inspections related to EHS compliance.
  • Facilitate work permit systems and ensure occupational health and welfare measures are implemented.
  • Formulate EHS conditions for contracts with subcontractors.
  • Take immediate action to halt unsafe practices encouraging proactive safety attitudes.
  • Conduct monthly risk management audits and quarterly system audits.
  • Report EHS performance status regularly to project and IC heads.
