Job description

Role Overview

Innovamat is looking for a mathematics education specialist to help expand its U.S. presence and deepen the way math is taught in classrooms. Based in San Francisco or the Bay Area, this position is also open to candidates anywhere in the United States who are prepared to relocate. The role is ideal for someone who wants to combine strong math pedagogy, teacher coaching, and district-level partnership building to create lasting classroom impact.

Innovamat is a fast-scaling global EdTech company with more than 300 team members across 10 countries. Its math learning programs are used by over 27,000 teachers in 2,600+ schools and reach more than 600,000 students worldwide. With headquarters in Barcelona and an expanding footprint across the U.S., the company operates with a startup mindset focused on speed, ownership, experimentation, and measurable impact. The organization also draws inspiration from leading learning scientists and classroom thinkers, positioning itself at the intersection of research, product innovation, and implementation.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the main mathematics success partner, helping reshape how teachers approach and teach math rather than only supporting rollout.
  • Create and run customized professional development plans for schools and teachers.
  • Coach educators directly in classrooms through observations, live demonstrations, and feedback-based improvement cycles.
  • Support a shift toward thinking classrooms where students reason, explore, and participate actively in math learning.
  • Contribute to outcomes such as stronger teacher confidence, higher student engagement, and better conceptual understanding.
  • Facilitate hands-on math workshops and professional learning sessions based on practical classroom application.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to teachers and school leaders as they work through challenges and growth goals.
  • Help develop a connected community of math educators in your territory.
  • Travel to schools and districts for approximately 30% to 50% of your time.

What the Role Demands

This position calls for someone who is ready to help build something early and meaningful in the U.S. market. You should be comfortable operating in an environment where priorities can evolve, systems may still be forming, and ownership matters. The right candidate will be energized by fast-paced work, strategic school partnerships, and the chance to become a trusted math expert for educators and administrators.

Requirements

  • Strong academic and practical preparation in mathematics and teaching.
  • Prior experience as an elementary school math teacher is especially valuable.
  • Ability to translate current research into classroom practice in ways that benefit both students and teachers.
  • Experience building relationships and creating opportunities with district-level leaders or similar stakeholders.
  • Excellent educator-to-educator communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfort with a hands-on role that involves building processes and approaches from the ground up.
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and enthusiasm for working in an early-stage environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the assigned region.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Base pay of $90,000 to $100,000.
  • On-target earnings of $130,000 with uncapped upside.
  • 401(k) plan with a 5% company match.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 100% of employee premiums paid by the company.
  • 22+ days of paid time off, plus an extra company-wide holiday shutdown week.
  • Regular team events and an annual company retreat.
  • Opportunity to work with leading educators, mathematicians, and researchers.
  • High-trust culture with strong ownership and direct influence on U.S. growth.
  • Exposure to cross-functional work across Growth, Strategy, Marketing, and Math teams.
  • Mission-driven environment focused on transforming student experiences with math.

Equal Opportunity and Accommodations

Innovamat is an equal opportunity employer and reviews all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status. The company also states that it will provide reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities during the application process. If assistance is needed because of a disability, candidates may contact the company for support. The company also notes that personal data will be processed as part of its recruitment procedures and refers candidates to its privacy notices for more information.

Location

This role is based in San Francisco or the Bay Area, with consideration for candidates anywhere in the U.S. who are willing to relocate.
