Role summary
The Education Counsellor will support international students with expert guidance so they can choose the institution and study pathway that best matches their academic and career goals. The role involves advising on study options, admissions, local education systems, culture, and regional context, while also helping with application paperwork, enrolments, and the promotion of company products and services.
Key responsibilities
- Work toward pipeline, customer satisfaction, and advocacy goals at every stage of the student journey.
- Promote student-focused products and services, manage leads, and follow applications through to completion.
- Identify and act on referral opportunities, and take part in events and lead-generation activities.
- Maintain accurate records and keep the database up to date.
- Deliver high-quality service to students, families, and education providers throughout the process.
- Support engagement planning that helps students stay connected and informed.
- Explain admissions steps, qualification choices, and related information in a clear and accessible way.
- Maintain regular, proactive communication with students and education providers.
- Guide students on the best institution for their needs and future aspirations.
- Assist with documentation required for applications and support enrolment completion.
Experience and requirements
- Background in sales or customer service roles with a record of meeting individual and team targets.
- Strong understanding of the education sector, including student placement into VET and university pathways.
- Knowledge of immigration requirements and related processes.
- Either relevant tertiary education or previous experience in an Education Counsellor or similar position.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Ability to speak Hindi, Punjabi, or another second language is desirable.
