The opportunity

The Energy is hiring an Education and Events Producer to take charge of the end-to-end production and delivery of its live, online, and on-demand learning offerings. The education platform is designed to be structured, expert-led, and immediately useful. This position is a central part of The Energy Learning and can contribute meaningfully to the energy transition by helping strengthen professional capability.

In this role, you will partner closely with the CEO, Editor, and expert contributors to develop a portfolio of professional courses, online masterclasses, and live events.

Key responsibilities

• Convert a pre-defined learning framework into highly relevant educational experiences that address specific topics and deliver the intended learning outcomes.
• Research, shortlist, and bring in leading energy-industry specialists, technical researchers, policymakers, and sector leaders to present and contribute to learning activities.
• Manage expert relationships from start to finish, including briefing them on learning goals, checking presentation content for accuracy and alignment, and ensuring the material suits the target audience’s level.
• Act as the main project lead across all educational initiatives, setting timelines, key milestones, and production schedules while maintaining oversight from concept stage through to delivery.
• Build, track, and control budgets for individual events and wider learning programs, including speaker payments, honorariums, contract adherence, invoice handling, and after-event financial reconciliation.
• Define performance metrics with the CEO, report progress during and after each project, and implement improvements to strengthen results against agreed measures.

Requirements

• Solid working knowledge of the energy sector, including major trends, terminology, and challenges, so you can work effectively with experts and shape relevant content.
• Prior experience commissioning or managing educational or knowledge-based content, ideally for professional audiences.
• Good editorial judgment and the ability to turn complex ideas into clear, accessible formats.
• Strong project management capability, with careful attention to detail.
• Experience working with subject matter experts and coordinating collaborative workflows.
