Job description
Role overview
A mid-sized Charlotte law firm is hiring licensed attorneys for a remote, temporary, full-time eDiscovery document review assignment. The work is performed entirely from home, including training, and attorneys will use their own computers to review court materials in Relativity. The assignment may last anywhere from a few weeks to a multi-year engagement, depending on project needs.
Project details
This is not a simple first-pass relevance or privilege review with highlighted text. The review workflow involves detailed coding fields and issue flags that require careful legal analysis, strong judgment, and close attention to each case file. The position begins on July 6 or July 13, 2026, with onboarding finishing in the week before the start date.
Work schedule and engagement terms
- Full-time temporary role with 40 hours per week.
- There may be overtime once you are fully familiar with the project.
- Work hours run from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. EST Monday through Friday.
- Availability during standard business hours, roughly 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST, is expected.
- Weekend shifts may also be available.
- Employment is W-2 and includes benefits such as health insurance and paid time off.
- Before starting, you must complete a background check, a conflicts check, and a remote interview.
Responsibilities
The attorney will support a multi-level document review project by examining case files, analyzing court documents in Relativity, and extracting review-related information. The role requires ownership of the review process and the materials being handled, plus the ability to spot issues and apply sound legal reasoning throughout the review.
Required qualifications
- An active law license in good standing.
- Residence in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, or Texas for the full duration of the assignment.
- Background in civil litigation strategy and legal documentation.
- Advanced working knowledge of the Relativity review platform.
- Experience managing review workflows and related materials independently.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a responsive and engaged work style.
- A strong commitment to delivering excellent results for the client.
Compensation and benefits
The pay rate is $45 per hour. Benefits include health insurance and paid time off, and the project may continue long term for strong performers.
