Position Overview
Join Crossing Hurdles as a full-time Member of Technical Staff specializing in Economics Research. This remote role involves dedicating between 10 to 40 hours per week, with a highly competitive annual salary range from 400000 to 800000 USD. The role demands strong collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to push the boundaries of AI evaluation in economic contexts.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and enhance evaluation frameworks including benchmarks and scoring systems to assess AI's performance in economic domains.
- Carry out research focused on economic reasoning and empirical methods aimed at improving AI capabilities.
- Create datasets and develop benchmarking environments that simulate challenges encountered in real-world economic research.
- Work closely with researchers, economists, engineers, and product teams to refine AI models specialized in economics.
- Examine AI model behaviors and failure patterns to discover new avenues for research.
- Utilize econometric techniques and statistical analyses to assess AI on economic tasks.
- Produce detailed technical documents and disseminate research outcomes to advance the evaluation of AI systems in economics.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a PhD in Economics or a closely related quantitative field.
- Have at least three years of applied economic research experience following the PhD.
- Expertise in disciplines such as labor economics, macroeconomics, or the economics of AI.
- Strong proficiency in econometrics, applied microeconomics, and causal inference methodologies.
- Experience managing large datasets with SQL and programming proficiency in Python or R for statistical analysis.
- Proven track record of conducting empirical research or crafting analytical methods.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
