Job description
About the company
Dyson is a global technology business that has been expanding rapidly, with ambitions to add more product categories, geographies, and team members. The company entered Canada in 2006 and its Toronto headquarters has been recognized among the best workplaces in the region. In recent years, Dyson has grown across digital, direct, field sales, and its increasing network of Dyson Demo stores.
The organization places strong emphasis on a campus-based culture where people work together, learn from one another, and keep developing in a lively, collaborative environment.
Role overview
The eCommerce Commercial Insights Analyst will turn large volumes of data into clear business intelligence, helping shape strategic decisions. This role focuses on gathering and interpreting data, then translating findings into sales, marketing, and optimization recommendations.
The position calls for strong commercial judgement and hands-on experience with digital analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics. The analyst will track sales trends and online customer behavior to uncover ways to improve the digital experience and performance across Dysoncanada.ca and traffic-generating media channels.
Commercial analytics responsibilities
- Prepare, update, and present weekly reporting and insights on sell-out performance and promotional activity to support business decisions.
- Use tools such as MS Excel, Tableau, and Adobe Analytics to analyze large datasets, produce reports, share commentary, and highlight major business trends.
- Work with eCommerce sales leaders on sales strategy, promotional planning, forecasting, and assortment reviews.
- Create Adobe and Tableau dashboards that give users self-serve access to data and support faster decision-making.
- Handle special initiatives and ad hoc analysis as required.
eCommerce analytics responsibilities
- Continuously review the eCommerce platform for shifts in customer behavior and communicate findings clearly, with commercial context, to the eCommerce team and broader business.
- Investigate problem areas by combining inputs from digital analytics, customer feedback, and session replay tools, then recommend practical solutions.
- Partner with the eCommerce team to design multivariate and A/B tests and assist with post-test evaluation.
- Monitor the tagging approach across Dyson digital properties to help ensure data quality and integrity.
- Build reports and visualizations that make performance, trends, and action items easy to understand.
- Stay current on analytics best practices and platform changes, and assess how they affect existing programs.
- Collaborate with product marketing teams to better understand what resonates with owners and use that insight to support cross-channel customer journeys.
- Work with the eCommerce and Media teams to measure channel performance across SEO, SEM, Display, Paid Social, and Affiliates, support forecasting models, and complement agency reporting by identifying high-value or underperforming audiences and opportunities to improve engagement and conversion.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline. They should bring 3 to 5 years of experience in sales analytics, along with a strong understanding of eCommerce journeys, digital usability, and user experience.
Intermediate-level MS Excel capability is required, and Tableau experience is an asset. Deep familiarity with web analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics is essential, including understanding how these tools capture, process, and store data.
The role also requires the ability to simplify complex analysis into clear themes for non-technical audiences, identify digital optimization opportunities from customer insight, and convert findings into test ideas and campaign recommendations. The candidate must be able to validate, test, and troubleshoot tracking data for quality assurance.
Additional strengths include data visualization, reporting, data management, multi-channel marketing, conversion rate optimization, adaptability between strategic and day-to-day work, creative problem-solving, urgency, attention to detail, stakeholder relationship-building, strong planning and project management, and excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills for senior and peer audiences.
Compensation and benefits
The annual compensation for this role is CAD 80,000 to CAD 100,000, plus a bonus opportunity.
Dyson offers a benefits package that combines financial, lifestyle, and health support, reflecting its high-performance culture and commitment to employees at different life stages.
