About Lansing School District
The Lansing School District educates more than 10,000 students from PreK through 12th grade across 25 school buildings within a vibrant and diverse urban setting in Lansing, Michigan. Position Summary
The Assistant Athletic Director collaborates closely with school leaders to recruit student athletes, develop coaching staff, and oversee the planning and execution of athletic events throughout the district.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing all athletic events hosted at home facilities to ensure smooth operations.
- Recruiting and managing event staff for home athletic competitions.
- Hiring and coordinating officials for athletic contests.
- Managing ticket sales and admissions for home games.
- Welcoming and hosting visiting teams, media representatives, and families during events.
- Coordinating athletic schedules in conjunction with school administration.
- Performing other duties as assigned to support the district's mission and vision.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience coaching athletics at the K-12 level.
- Familiarity with Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) guidelines.
- Knowledge of Lansing School District's athletics policies and procedures.
- Availability to attend all home athletic competitions.
- Strong alignment with and dedication to the mission and vision of the Lansing School District.
