About Fitness Avenue
Founded in 2007, Fitness Avenue is a top Canadian brand specializing in high-performance gym equipment for everyone from home fitness enthusiasts to professional athletes. We pride ourselves on offering commercial-grade quality and exceptional value by optimizing our global supply chain and rigorously testing our products. Our business model combines a large-scale e-commerce platform with strategically located retail showrooms, delivering both digital efficiency and personalized customer service.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on "Player-Coach" to lead our main warehouse operations team. This leadership position requires direct oversight of warehouse activities, ensuring rapid and accurate fulfillment of e-commerce orders and seamless inventory supply to our retail stores. You will be responsible not only for managing staff but also for maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of all warehouse functions including receiving, packing, shipping, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the warehouse floor team with a proactive, example-setting leadership style to promote productivity, discipline, and respect.
- Streamline and enhance current warehouse systems to maximize throughput, focusing on speedy e-commerce order packing and meticulous inventory management.
- Maintain continuous supply to retail showrooms via precise logistical coordination of inventory transfers.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counting and thorough inspection of inbound shipments.
- Serve as the liaison between warehouse operations and customer service to promptly solve fulfillment issues.
- Manage scheduling, training, and real-time performance evaluation of warehouse staff.
- Oversee the complete pick, pack, and ship cycle, closely tracking orders against daily shipping deadlines.
- Supervise offloading and quality checks of international and domestic shipments to ensure immediate system entry.
- Enforce safety standards and equipment upkeep to maintain a secure, orderly warehouse environment.
- Drive performance by striving for KPIs focusing on accuracy, speed, and safety, with eligibility for an annual bonus of 5% to 10% based on results.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3 years of experience managing warehouse staff directly, ideally in fast-paced settings.
- A minimum of 5 years working in warehouse operations with hands-on involvement in logistics and physical inventory handling.
- Experience managing distribution through multiple channels, including both e-commerce and retail.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and shipping software, using technology to enhance operational organization.
- Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred; exceptional candidates with equivalent experience considered.
- Knowledge or experience in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies or other productivity-boosting, data-driven strategies is highly advantageous.
What We Offer
- Autonomy to lead warehouse operations as the key decision-maker.
- Exposure to premium gym equipment and modern logistics technology in a leading Canadian fitness company.
- A competitive salary with performance-based bonuses, plus a comprehensive benefits package including dental, disability, extended health, life insurance, vision care, and on-site parking.
