About the Role and Organization

Novotel & Ibis Rotorua Lakeside, located in Rotorua, New Zealand, combines business and leisure hospitality to create memorable guest experiences. As part of Accor, a global hospitality leader, these hotels pride themselves on genuine service through dedicated teamwork and heartfelt hospitality.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Duty Manager to join the Front Office leadership team. This role requires someone who thrives in a lively hospitality setting, leads by example, and passionately ensures exceptional guest satisfaction while supporting and developing the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee hotel operations during assigned shifts for uninterrupted guest services.
  • Motivate and support the Front Office team in delivering top-notch customer care.
  • Serve as the primary contact for guest inquiries, requests, and feedback, handling all matters professionally and efficiently.
  • Maintain high standards in service quality, presentation, and operational procedures throughout the hotel.
  • Collaborate closely with departments including Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance to ensure smooth coordination.
  • Supervise safety, security protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in training and coaching team members to foster their growth and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to meeting goals related to occupancy, revenue, and overall guest satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in roles such as Duty Manager, Assistant Manager, or Front Office leadership is highly desirable.
  • Strong enthusiasm for outstanding customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities.
  • Organizational strength and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Confident decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours on a rotating schedule, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Holding or ability to obtain a New Zealand Manager’s Certificate is a plus.
  • Current First Aid Certificate is advantageous.
