Role Overview

The Duty Manager position is a full-time, on-site role based at Café en Seine. The individual will oversee daily operations across the restaurant, bars, and garden ensuring exceptional service standards. They will maintain a welcoming, safe environment for both guests and staff. Key duties include supervising front-of-house personnel, managing shift rosters, overseeing floor activities, and assisting staff to deliver prompt and professional service. The Duty Manager also addresses guest inquiries and complaints, manages bookings and walk-ins, coordinates with kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service, and guarantees compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.

Additional responsibilities include supporting venue opening and closing procedures, overseeing cash handling, and participating in continuous efforts to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in hospitality or bar/restaurant management, preferably within high-volume, premium venues.
  • Strong leadership abilities with skills in motivating, coaching, and supporting staff during busy periods.
  • Excellent guest service aptitude and conflict resolution capabilities focused on fostering positive customer experiences.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, including shift scheduling, floor oversight, and multitasking when under pressure.
  • Knowledgeable about applicable health, safety, and licensing standards in food and beverage operations.
  • Proficient communication skills, both spoken and written, and capable of collaborating with diverse team members.
  • Comfortable performing administrative duties such as cash handling, reporting, and utilizing point-of-sale and reservation technologies.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays aligned with venue operations.
  • Prior experience within Dublin’s hospitality industry and familiarity with the local clientele are advantageous.
  • Relevant hospitality or management certifications or training are beneficial but not mandatory.
