Driver cum Day Care Assistant – Yishun & Canberra

Role overview

This role combines safe client transportation with hands-on day care and rehabilitation support. The selected candidate will drive clients to and from their homes and the centre, while also assisting with basic care tasks and programme participation. Key responsibilities

• Transport clients between their homes and the centre for rehabilitation or day care activities.
• Support clients with walking, movement within the centre, and transfers into and out of the vehicle.
• Carry out basic health checks such as temperature screening and vital signs monitoring.
• Guide clients through prescribed exercise routines, both individually and in group settings.
• Help with essential daily needs including toileting, meal preparation, and feeding when needed.
• Follow infection prevention measures and safety procedures consistently.
• Arrange transportation support for other programme-related requirements when needed.
• Work closely with the supervisor on administrative matters and report client progress.
• Assist with documentation tasks such as attendance records and incident reports, where required.
• Keep the vehicle clean, carry out basic upkeep, and ensure it is serviced regularly.
• Maintain a tidy centre environment and report any vehicle faults or signs of wear and tear.
• Observe road safety, workplace safety, and client safety at all times.
• Help with general centre duties as assigned.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, caregivers, and colleagues.
• Escalate any incidents or injuries involving clients, staff, or self to the supervisor.
• Take on additional duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid Singapore Class 3 driving licence.
• Should have at least an O-Level or N-Level qualification.
• Requires a minimum of 1 year of work experience in patient care.
• Basic caregiving knowledge or a healthcare support certification will be an advantage.
• Should be able to perform emergency responses such as bleeding control, dressing and sling application, splinting, and CPR-AED.
• Strong problem-solving ability, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to attend training and internal learning programmes.
• May need to work weekends and/or after office hours when necessary.
• Must be physically capable of manual handling tasks such as transfers, positioning, mobility support, stooping, bending, lifting, and gripping.
