Job description
Role Overview and Key Responsibilities
- Create CNC machine programs ranging from 3-axis to 5-axis for both new parts and rework components utilizing CAM software tools.
- Enhance machining efficiency by optimizing tool paths, feed rates, speeds, and selecting appropriate tooling, aiming for reduced cycle times and superior surface finish.
- Interpret and work directly from engineering blueprints, 3D CAD models, and detailed customer drawings to develop accurate programs.
- Partner with machinists during initial part setup and program validation to ensure proper operation and quality output.
- Manage and update the CNC program library, including maintaining post-processing configurations and tooling documentation.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in CNC programming standards within the workshop to drive quality and productivity.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of three years' experience in CNC programming within a job-shop or production setting.
- Skilled in CAM software such as Mastercam, Esprit, or equivalent platforms.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
- Preferred experience with 5-axis CNC programming techniques.
- Capable of working independently and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
