Job description

Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

  • Create CNC machine programs ranging from 3-axis to 5-axis for both new parts and rework components utilizing CAM software tools.
  • Enhance machining efficiency by optimizing tool paths, feed rates, speeds, and selecting appropriate tooling, aiming for reduced cycle times and superior surface finish.
  • Interpret and work directly from engineering blueprints, 3D CAD models, and detailed customer drawings to develop accurate programs.
  • Partner with machinists during initial part setup and program validation to ensure proper operation and quality output.
  • Manage and update the CNC program library, including maintaining post-processing configurations and tooling documentation.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in CNC programming standards within the workshop to drive quality and productivity.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of three years' experience in CNC programming within a job-shop or production setting.
  • Skilled in CAM software such as Mastercam, Esprit, or equivalent platforms.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
  • Preferred experience with 5-axis CNC programming techniques.
  • Capable of working independently and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
