Drafter & CAD Designer

About the Role

Hammond Lumber Company, honored as one of Maine's Best Places to Work in 2025, is looking for a skilled Drafter & CAD Designer at our Auburn, Maine facility to bring customer residential design ideas to life using Soft Plan software.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to precisely represent their residential design concepts using Soft Plan.
• Coordinate with the sales team to ensure timely completion of designs and estimates.
• Maintain open communication with customers to promptly address and resolve design-related concerns.
• Build and nurture strong customer relationships through exceptional service.
• Engage and maintain connections with engineers, architects, and contractors throughout design and construction stages.

Qualifications

• Preferred minimum of two years of experience working with CAD software.
• Familiarity with Soft Plan software is advantageous.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for interacting with the public.
