About the Role
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our dedicated team as Domestic Assistants at Medirest, serving hospitals in London. This position is vital in maintaining excellent hygiene standards that directly affect patient and staff safety and contribute to the effective running of healthcare services. The hourly wage is £13.85 for a 35-hour workweek, providing a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a hospital environment.
Working Hours and Contract Details
- Monday to Friday: Full-time day shifts
- Saturday and Sunday: Not scheduled
The role follows a standard contracted schedule per year as per hospital policy.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning duties including high and low dusting, mopping, wiping, and scrubbing of surfaces.
- Maintain cleanliness in wards, side rooms, toilets, showers, infected, and public areas within the hospital.
- Ensure timely emptying and maintenance of rubbish bins.
- Adhere strictly to infection control policies and safety procedures to keep all hospital areas clean, safe, and welcoming.
- Operate cleaning equipment following all health and safety guidelines.
Candidate Requirements
- A genuine passion for patient care with strong communication skills for interacting effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
- A flexible, team-oriented approach with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Comfortable working in hospital settings, aware that you may encounter unwell or distressed patients.
- Previous experience as a Domestic Assistant is not necessary; a proud work ethic and eagerness to learn are highly valued.
- Position requires a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, with costs covered by the employer.
