Domestic Assistant at Beverly Lodge, Newtownards

About the Role

Optimum Care Group invites applications for multiple Domestic Assistant positions at Beverly Lodge, located in Newtownards. These roles can be either full-time (28 hours per week) or part-time (14 hours per week), with shifts running from 8am to 3pm any day from Monday through Sunday. The hourly wage is £12.71, with additional pay on Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent cleanliness and efficiency throughout the Home, particularly in your assigned cleaning zones.
• Follow an organized cleaning schedule, assisting with other areas as directed by the Home Manager.
• Respect and uphold the confidentiality, privacy, dignity, and choices of residents by knocking before entering rooms and avoiding cleaning during mealtimes in residents’ rooms.
• Handle residents' personal belongings considerately.
• Water plants and care for flowers within the premises.
• Ensure all cleaning duties, whether daily or weekly, are completed and report any missed tasks to the Home Manager or nurse in charge.
• Thoroughly clean rooms immediately after they become vacant.
• Report any damages or broken furniture and faulty equipment in the maintenance log, as well as incidents, accidents, or near misses promptly.
• Inform the Home Manager about any deficiencies related to decor.
• Participate in staff meetings and complete required training sessions as scheduled by the Home Manager.

Health and Safety

• Adhere to the Home’s Health and Safety policies at all times.
• Take necessary steps to prevent cross infection, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) following COSHH guidelines.
• Display appropriate safety signs such as wet floor notices when applicable.
• Keep all work equipment clean, functional, and report any faults immediately.
• Comply with Fire Safety, COSHH, and Moving and Handling policies.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the Home Manager.

Essential Requirements

• No prior experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in domestic duties either professionally or voluntarily.
• Previous work experience within a nursing home environment.
