Role Overview
The Doggy Daycare Driver position, based full-time in Edinburgh, involves safely ferrying dogs to and from clients' homes and the daycare facility. Key duties include organizing and adhering to transport routes, ensuring animals are securely and comfortably loaded/unloaded, maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle, and following all relevant safety and traffic laws. Clear and professional communication with pet guardians and coworkers is essential. Additional responsibilities involve aiding in basic daycare tasks such as observing dogs, maintaining outdoor garden areas, and reporting any concerns regarding canine health or behavior.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working with dogs, capable of safely and calmly managing animal care routines.
- Effective communication abilities for updating pet owners and coordinating with team members.
- Professional and respectful interaction with a diverse client base.
- Background in handling animals, specifically dogs, with knowledge of canine behavior and safety protocols.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and confidence operating a medium-sized van in both urban and residential neighborhoods.
- Physical ability to lift and handle dogs of varying sizes and capacity to work in dynamic indoor and outdoor daycare environments.
- Reliability, punctuality, and organized scheduling skills to efficiently manage routes and appointments.
