Work Details
This full-time position operates onsite in Minneola, Florida, typically during day and weekend shifts. The office is located at 1800 N Hancock Rd, Minneola, FL 34715.
Role Responsibilities
- Confirm that every page carries the correct patient and form identification barcodes
- Evaluate paper records against electronic versions to assure image quality and to detect any missing documents
- Identify image or document errors and perform necessary corrections
- Use unit discharge logs to confirm receipt of all medical records
- Process loose documents promptly and efficiently
- Retrieve, scan, and prepare discharged records from various units and departments for transport, including possible travel to other facilities within the division
- Perform near-time scanning of active and discharged patient records on nursing units
- Maintain productivity and quality according to established standards
- Report any discrepancies or irregularities in records to supervisory staff
- Follow the schedule and expectations set by the health information management department
- Accurately sort and assign records or loose reports to their destination
- Effectively communicate with nursing and ancillary personnel about record locations or missing documents
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Intermediate proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Clear verbal communication abilities with colleagues, management, physicians, patients, and families
- Strong critical thinking and meticulous attention to detail
- Capacity to perform repetitive tasks with sustained focus
- High information retention and precision
- Ability to prioritize tasks and exercise independent judgment
- Demonstrated track record of excellent customer service and teamwork
- Competence in interpreting and preparing complex written materials correctly, including grammar and spelling
- High standards of professionalism and confidentiality
- Capability to work independently while onsite
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and maintain strong attention to detail
- Understanding of security and confidentiality protocols related to protected health information
Education and Experience
- Minimum educational requirement is high school diploma or equivalent
- Technical or vocational schooling is preferred
- Preferred field experience includes technical or military backgrounds
- Some college coursework in business, healthcare, or associated fields with emphasis on typing, filing, medical terminology, or health information management is advantageous

- Salary range between $16.63 and $26.60 per hour
