Role overview
Join a major agriculture organization as a Document Controller supporting a project team in Saskatoon. This assignment begins as a 12-month contract and is based onsite five days a week. The role is central to keeping project records accurate, organized, and accessible, with a strong focus on independent judgment, proactive coordination, and consistent quality.
What you will do
- Support the setup and ongoing maintenance of SharePoint or another document management platform for the project.
- Apply correct numbering, metadata, and version controls to project documents.
- Review documentation carefully to confirm it meets required standards and quality expectations.
- Manage the movement of information from EPCM contractors and other service providers to the project team, while preparing the necessary reports.
- Help train internal and external stakeholders on the document management program and the tools used to run related processes.
- Create and roll out document control procedures covering document control requirements, numbering structures, and project area designations.
What is required
- A post-secondary qualification in Business Administration, Information Management, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in document control; background on large-scale projects is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of document control workflows and systems; experience with SharePoint and Aconex is considered beneficial.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; advanced Excel ability is an asset.
- Exposure to Oracle or comparable ERP platforms.
- Well-developed organization, accuracy, and the ability to juggle several priorities at once.
- Clear communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented style.
- Comfort working on your own, taking initiative, and handling confidential information appropriately.
