Job description
Position Overview
The University of Marburg, established in 1527, is an academic institution with approximately 22,000 students, committed to addressing contemporary challenges through outstanding research across diverse scientific fields. The Center for Conflict Research, under the leadership of Prof. Anderl, invites applications for a part-time (75%) Doctoral Researcher or Postdoctoral Fellow position. This role is funded within the project "Contested Responses to the Climate Crisis: Environmental Conflicts in Southeast Europe in the Shadow of the EU’s Green Transition," supported by the German Foundation for Peace Research.
Employment Details
- Contract duration: January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2028
- Part-time employment at 75% workload
- Salary and benefits aligned with public sector standards in Hesse (TV-H E 13, 75%)
Responsibilities
- Conduct research related to environmental conflicts in Southeast Europe within the framework of the EU's green transition efforts
- Perform field investigations in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Organize a workshop focused on knowledge exchange
- Engage in academic publication activities
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a completed academic degree (Diploma, Master’s, or equivalent) in social sciences
- Proficient in Serbo-Croatian and English languages
- Desirable: familiarity with the social and cultural environments of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Advantageous: experience in protest and social movement studies
- Beneficial: prior involvement in academic projects
