Diversional Therapist

The role

Oceania is seeking a full-time Diversional Therapist for Elderslea Lodge Village in Upper Hutt. The position sits within a committed team and focuses on supporting residents through engaging, meaningful activity programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Take the lead in coordinating the activities team.
• Partner with care staff, residents, and family members to design enjoyable and varied activity programmes.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities while ensuring the environment remains safe.
• Develop strong working relationships with residents, staff, and visitors.

What you will bring

• Prior experience in a comparable role.
• A National Certificate in Diversional Therapy, or an equivalent qualification in health of older adults.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire participation.
• Competence with computers and systems administration.
• Ability to work within policies and procedures to satisfy audit expectations.
• A full New Zealand driver licence.
• Flexibility, effective multitasking, and solid time management.
