About the role

Danone is hiring a Dispensary Technician to join its Production team at the Balclutha site. This practical, hands-on position supports dispensary operations by preparing and organising ingredients so manufacturing runs safely and efficiently.

You will report to the Team Leader and contribute to the accuracy, quality, and safety of ingredients used in product formulations. Your work will help support the production of high-quality nutritional products.

This is a permanent full-time role, scheduled for Sunday to Wednesday from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm.

What you will do

  • Move, weigh, and measure ingredients accurately using the right equipment.
  • Check equipment regularly to support precision and dependable performance.
  • Prepare ingredients in line with production plans and formulation needs.
  • Maintain strong quality and food safety standards throughout the process.
  • Follow dispensary procedures and complete all required documentation correctly.
  • Work with the warehouse to manage inventory levels and request materials when needed.
  • Communicate with production and site teams to help drive ongoing improvement.
  • Follow and support WISE Health & Safety practices to help keep the workplace safe.

What we are looking for

The right person will be careful, dependable, and comfortable working as part of a team. Success in this role will come from being accurate, quality-focused, and able to keep pace in a busy manufacturing environment while staying committed to safety and continuous improvement.

You should be able to follow processes closely, organise your workload well, and communicate clearly with others across the site.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • A tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Microbiology, Science, or a similar field is preferred.
  • Understanding of food or dairy hygiene practices.
  • HACCP knowledge is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational ability.
  • Clear communication and a collaborative working style.
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel and Word.
  • A proactive approach with solid problem-solving skills.
