Role Overview
As a Dishwasher and Prep Cook, you will be an integral part of the culinary team, contributing to outstanding food and beverage experiences. Reporting to the Head Chef, your role involves maintaining cleanliness and order in the dishwashing and food preparation areas, assisting with food item preparation, and supporting kitchen operations with various tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate dishwashing to clean and sanitize all plates, glassware, and equipment effectively, following Tyax culinary standards.
- Monitor and maintain proper dishwashing machine water temperature to ensure sanitary cycles.
- Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions immediately to management.
- Receive and correctly store kitchen supplies to maintain stock and organization.
- Clean and upkeep kitchen areas and equipment as directed by culinary leadership.
- Assist with basic food preparation under supervision, supporting the culinary team.
- Contribute to creating a excellent guest dining experience through high-quality work.
- Adhere to health and safety standards consistently.
- Complete assigned tasks independently, efficiently, and with attention to detail.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work as a cooperative team member and provide excellent customer service.
- Dependable and flexible to work all shifts including early mornings, nights, and weekends.
- Eagerness to learn new skills and develop professionally.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced setting with excellent time management and prioritization.
- Detail-oriented with self-discipline and commitment to quality.
- Possession of BC Food Safe Level 1 certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods during shifts.
- Capacity to lift items weighing up to 70 lbs.
