Role overview
Flanigan’s is looking for a dishwasher to help maintain a spotless, well-presented restaurant. This role plays an important part in keeping the kitchen and dining operation clean, sanitized, and ready for guests and teammates. The position is based in Hallandale Beach, Florida.
Key duties
- Follow the company’s safety rules, sanitation standards, and training procedures.
- Clean, wash, and sanitize plates, glassware, cutlery, cookware, kitchen tools, and related items according to Flanigan’s sanitation practices.
- Keep cleaning and sanitizing throughout the shift.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and clearing debris from the floor.
- Carry out assigned prep tasks, opening and closing duties, and beautification-related tasks.
- Set up, monitor, and close down the dish machine at the start of the day, during service, and at the end of the shift.
- Assist teammates when needed.
Physical and work environment requirements
- Remain standing or walking for the full shift.
- Be able to reach, bend, and stoop as needed.
- Frequently place hands in water mixed with chemical cleaning solutions.
- Lift up to 50 lbs several times per shift, including moving items onto higher shelves, coolers, and freezers.
- Work in a damp indoor environment with high temperatures, with only minimal time outdoors.
- Handle hot plates, pots, and pans safely.
- Use sharp knives and utensils safely.
- Speak, read, and write English.
Compliance and additional information
- Completion and passing of the food safety certification program is required, in line with Flanigan’s standards and Florida law.
- The schedule is a five-day work week with two consecutive days off.
- Vacation is paid at one week after the first year, two weeks after two years, and three weeks after ten years of service.
- A Christmas bonus equal to one week’s pay is provided after one year of employment.
- Medical and dental insurance programs are available.
- 401(k) plan enrollment is available immediately; employees must be 21 or older to enroll.
- Advancement is based on performance rather than length of service.
