Job description
Role Overview
As a Dishwasher, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of kitchenware including dishes, glassware, pots, pans, trays, and utensils by adhering to prescribed protocols. Additionally, you will ensure that the kitchen environment and equipment remain orderly and hygienic at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize all dishware and kitchen tools using designated procedures and equipment.
- Polish silverware with equipment such as burnishing machines, chemical dips, buffing wheels, and hand cloths.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, dishwashing equipment, ensuring it functions properly and meets safety regulations.
- Sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces regularly.
- Manage waste by removing trash to designated bins and cleaning garbage cans with steaming or hosing methods.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and transportation of supplies, products, and equipment between storage and working spaces.
- Perform other duties as needed to support kitchen operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a valid Food Handler Certificate or equivalent provincial certification.
- Willingness to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous dishwashing experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience handling industrial washing machines is an advantage.
- Ability to perform under pressure and maintain quality standards.
- Physical capability to carry out manual duties typical of this role.
