About the Role

Trapper's Sushi in Enumclaw, WA is seeking a responsible and diligent Dishwasher to help maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment. This position involves working actively in a fast-moving restaurant setting, ensuring all kitchen ware is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, and supporting the team to maintain smooth operations during busy times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather used dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools from designated locations.
  • Operate commercial dishwashing machinery safely and effectively including loading and unloading processes.
  • Hand wash larger, fragile, or specialty items as necessary.
  • Ensure all kitchen items are cleaned, sanitized, appropriately organized, and returned to their correct storage.
  • Keep the dishwashing station clean, orderly, and sanitary throughout each work period.
  • Handle waste disposal including trash, recycling, and compost following company protocol.
  • Clean assigned kitchen areas, storage spaces, floors, equipment, and restrooms regularly.
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely adhering to labeling, storage, and personal protection requirements.
  • Monitor the supply levels of cleaning products and promptly inform management when running low.
  • Report any maintenance or sanitation issues related to dishwashing equipment.
  • Proactively assist kitchen staff during peak service times by anticipating and communicating needs.
  • Comply with all food safety, health, sanitation, and workplace safety policies.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Previous experience in dishwashing, kitchens, or restaurants is favorable but not mandatory.
  • High attention to cleanliness and detail.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and strong team collaboration skills.
  • Capability to work efficiently during busy periods.
  • Comfortable following both verbal and written directions.
  • Competent in using commercial dishwashing machines and cleaning products safely.
  • Effective communicator with kitchen staff and management.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and variable shifts as operationally needed.
  • Possession or ability to acquire a Washington State Food Worker Card within 14 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced commercial kitchen setting.
  • Capacity to stand and walk for long durations during shifts.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Tolerance for working around heat, steam, water, cleaning chemicals, allergens, slippery floors, and loud noise.
  • Availability to work shifts of at least eight hours as scheduled.
  • Capability to complete essential job functions with or without accommodations.
