Role Overview
This position is for a dependable, well-organized dishwasher who can thrive in a busy team setting. The role focuses on keeping kitchenware clean and ready, supporting restaurant operations, and helping maintain a safe, orderly work environment.
Key Duties
- Collect used prep tubs, pans, utensils, and other kitchen items, then wash, dry, and store them properly.
- Prepare kitchen and dining spaces for the next shift by cleaning and replenishing workstations.
- Clean kitchen equipment and appliances such as ovens, makelines, and cut tables.
- Keep the dish pit neat, sanitary, and well organized.
- Help receive deliveries and put stock away.
- Sweep and mop floors, especially after spills.
- Remove trash and rinse garbage containers as needed.
- Assist teammates with other restaurant tasks when support is required.
- Report accidents, safety issues, or food-code violations to the appropriate team members.
- Ensure the dining area is ready at opening, throughout service, and at closing.
- Set up the kitchen line before busy periods and reset the kitchen at closing for the following day.
What You Need
Applicants should be reliable team players with good communication and strong time-management skills. The job requires the ability to prioritize in a fast-moving setting, follow food safety standards, and work with a positive, committed attitude. A Texas Certified Food Handlers Certificate is required. Prior experience is not necessary, as training is provided on the job. A high school diploma or equivalent is helpful but not mandatory.
Work Environment
This role involves handling a large volume of cookware and dishes in a warm, active, and sometimes noisy restaurant environment. The dish area may be wet and slippery, so care is needed. Sharp tools and equipment must be managed safely, and the workplace includes conveyor ovens, warming shelves, and wheeled carts that require attention to avoid injury.
