Job description

Overview

Based at HQ London District, Horse Guards, Whitehall, London, the Discipline Executive Officer role supports the Discipline Team comprising military and civilian members. This team oversees the tracking and monitoring of Warning Sanction, Service Law, and Service Complaint cases across units under London District, aligning with current policies and KPIs. The officer ensures incoming casefiles and applications are quality assured and appropriately escalated up the Chain of Command, while managing administration and casework relevant to Service Complaint cases handled by HQ London District.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver proficient administrative and casework support to the Discipline Higher Executive Officer and team, managing disciplinary and Service Complaint cases efficiently and confidentially in accordance with policies.
  • Maintain and disseminate the Discipline Diary weekly to appropriate personnel, acting as a responsive point of contact for inquiries.
  • Oversee day-to-day administrative operations, including timely archiving of files with APSG, managing the shared mailbox effectively, and conducting detailed quality assurance on incoming casefiles and applications.
  • Update and manage the HQ LONDIST Discipline SharePoint site to ensure the information is up-to-date and compliant with information security protocols.
  • Handle all aspects of Service Complaint casework per relevant policies and deadlines, including coordinating requests for 0IS Investigators, preparing Terms of Reference for decision bodies, redaction and disclosure of documents, and stakeholder communications.
  • Provide guidance and support to various units on all facets of Service Law, Warning Sanction, and Service Complaint matters.
  • Engage with internal and external parties to obtain status updates on ongoing criminal cases as needed.
  • Manage discharge procedures within policy frameworks and timelines, contributing to the creation of statistical reports, analysis, and briefings.
  • Act as the lead contact for information management, staying informed on updates, maintaining training compliance, and ensuring logs are current.
  • Assist in preparing the Discipline Matrix for monthly meetings to inform the Chain of Command.

Employment Details

This is a full-time, onsite role requiring 37 hours per week. The position offers a salary of £30,740 with an £8,905 contribution towards a Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Staff receive 25 days paid annual leave, rising by one day per year to 30 days after five years, along with other benefits such as enhanced leave, employee assistance programs, and flexible working options subject to business needs. Additional Information

  • Office-based employees are expected to spend at least 60% of their working time onsite.
  • No relocation expenses are offered.
  • New Civil Service employees are subject to a six-month probation period.
