Job description
About the Company
Props helps brands turn creator marketing into a measurable performance channel. Rather than focusing on vanity metrics or simple affiliate distribution, the company aims to reduce customer acquisition costs and deliver outcomes that are scalable, dependable, and tied to business results. Its managed, end-to-end service combines the credibility and attention-grabbing power of creator content with the targeting and scalability of paid media. Props works with brands across categories such as CPG, ecommerce, travel, subscriptions, utilities, insurance, credit cards, and banking.
About the Role
This senior business development position is a hands-on hunting role focused on building direct relationships with brand-side decision-makers, including CMOs, VPs of Performance Marketing, and Heads of Growth. The goal is to turn those relationships into long-term client partnerships for Props.
The role is based in New York City’s Flatiron District and reports to the CCO and CEO. Compensation includes a competitive base salary along with strong performance-based commission.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify direct brand opportunities at companies facing significant digital acquisition pressure, typically Fortune 1000 businesses with at least $30M in annual digital media spend or an equivalent performance objective.
- Own new-business revenue targets and help drive growth across one or more priority verticals such as financial services and banking, insurance, CPG, travel, DTC, and subscriptions.
- Turn prospects into pilot programs.
- Lead discovery conversations, solution framing, proposal creation, and negotiations so that Props’ offering is aligned with the client’s acquisition and performance goals.
- Keep executive-level relationships active through pilot, renewal, and expansion phases, while working with Client Success to ensure a smooth transition from sale to ongoing activation.
- Develop and improve a repeatable sales process for focused segments, including ICP definition, qualification standards, outreach sequences, objection handling, and deal stages.
- Maintain a pipeline large enough to support the required performance threshold.
- Help shape Props’ go-to-market strategy for performance-driven creator marketing.
- Represent the company at networking and industry events.
- Set funnel KPIs and use the data to sharpen the sales approach.
- Work with teams on campaigns, events, and content that create qualified pipeline and shorten sales cycles.
- Feed structured market and customer insights back to Product and Leadership to guide roadmap and messaging.
Qualifications
- 5 to 8 years of experience selling media or marketing solutions directly to brand-side marketers.
- A proven history of closing significant annual accounts with Fortune 1000 brands, typically involving six- to eight-figure spend per client.
- Strong evidence of owning and surpassing new-business revenue goals in a fast-growing environment.
- Comfortable speaking the language of acquisition metrics such as CPA, ROAS, LTV, incrementality, and MMM, and selling against measurable benchmarks rather than concepts.
- Prior relationships in financial services, ecommerce, travel and hospitality, or CPG are preferred.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation ability, with the skill to explain a differentiated offering in terms that resonate with senior executives.
- Must be based in New York or able to travel there regularly.
Compensation
The role includes a competitive base salary and robust commission tied to performance.
