Overview
This role is focused on shaping and promoting forward-looking ideas and content that strengthen the bank’s reputation and encourage engagement. The position supports multi-channel thought leadership work aligned to strategic priorities such as industry developments, the North American economy, geopolitics and trade, technology and innovation, social impact and sustainability, and human capital. The successful candidate will bring strong internal and external relationships, along with a genuine interest in policy, industry, and market trends, especially the banking sector’s role in supporting prosperity.
What you will do
- Own the delivery of strategic thought leadership initiatives that support senior leaders, including idea generation, future planning, project launches, and management of the day-to-day schedule.
- Gather timely input from stakeholders across functions and business lines at different levels of the organization.
- Develop and maintain relationships with think tanks, industry bodies, experts, and academic institutions to support multi-channel engagement strategies.
- Coordinate support for annual and forward-looking priorities, staying connected with the groups responsible for them and ensuring regular progress updates.
- Prepare detailed analyses, briefings, and recommendations.
- Assist in creating important presentations by collecting stakeholder data and turning it into clear analysis and outputs.
- Track how thought leadership content and initiatives are performing, then produce reports and practical recommendations for improvement.
- Look for opportunities to modernize and strengthen the bank’s thought leadership efforts.
- Support the wider Global Corporate Affairs team by delivering assigned goals, plans, and initiatives in line with team strategy and objectives while following regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
- Promote a client-centered approach that helps deepen relationships and use the bank’s broader knowledge, systems, and connections effectively.
Leadership and operating expectations
- Apply the bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in everyday decisions and activities.
- Drive efficient operations while ensuring proper business controls and adherence to operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct requirements.
- Build a high-performance team environment by attracting, retaining, developing, and motivating people through inclusion, clear communication of vision and strategy, and succession and development planning.
Skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak clearly with senior executives and other stakeholders, especially in fast-moving situations.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills for drafting, editing, and stakeholder communication.
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute content strategies.
- Solid research and analytical capability.
- Strong sense of accountability, with a proactive and responsive approach to supporting senior leaders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Well-developed organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality.
